What's in a name?

Seriously, all you moms out there--these guys' last names are bad enough--they can't get rid of them unless they petition the court (like Chad Ocho Cinco). If having to live with a name like Tatupu--Tapupu, Tapoopsie, isn't bad enough--Tapanga? Or #84, TJ Hoochimama, oops, I mean Houshmandzadeh. What the f%*# is a Plaxico? And how about ol' NOShaun of the Auburn Tigers--someshaun? anyshaun? Stop trying to come up with names that nobody else would use--why would they want to? They sound ridiculous, and don't they get teased when they're little? Think of the kids people! They are the cruelest people in the world!

Playoffs

Ok--so I'm a girl, so what?!? I was born & raised a Skins fan--in MD. Needless to say, when the Balt. Browns came to town and all you band-wagon jumpers started flyin your cutsie, girlie purple flags it made me wanna puke. Since my Skins didn't make it this time, I must SHOUT--GO STEELERS!

Now speaking of shouting, all you Campbell bashers out there need to shut your yaps. How 'bout the line needs to 'cowboy up' and learn how the h_ _ l to block again! I'd send em an invite to my 8 (almost 9) year old's Pop Warner mitey mite football camp, but I think they'd be afraid they'd get shown up. Come on down to SC boys, my mite mites'll show you how it's done!

So for now, ALL THE WAY STEELERS! I'd much rather see an all PA superbowl than any d_ _n birds!

Happy 2009?

Speaking of being broke (12/30 blog), is it really going to be a 'Happy' New Year? It seems like a pretty dismal outlook if you ask me. No one has any money, no one is spending, and no one is lending. I hope our President elect can make good on his word to turn the economy around. It seems to me that we're still cleaning up the mess from the last Democratic Administration--and Mr. President elect is re-building that very same Administration. It's a good thing the Republicans are there to take the fall--not to mention clean up the mess. Yes, it'll be interesting to see if all those pretty words and big promises turn into a plan of action--that is, if we don't get blown to smitherines first. But once again, it won't happen until the Republicans are back in control of Congress, busy cleaning up the economic fallout and whatever other messes the Democrats make over the next four years. Even if Congress does somehow manage to turn the economy around, I think it will be a short lived victory.

Higher Education, or Just More Costly?

Does anyone ever wonder where all that tuition money goes? How about the millions of dollars a year that Colleges and Universities make on football games (while the players get all broken up for nothing). Now, granted I have a BS myself, but I certainly didn't need one in order to perform my current job. It may have gotten me looked at over other applicants, but let's face it--unless you are going to be a Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer, or something along those lines, do you really need a degree? How many parents and students have racked up thousands of dollars in tuition and/or loans and aren't even working in their field of study? These Institutions are racking it up while the rest of us are up to our eyeballs in debt. I graduated in 1997, and I can't even remember half of the classes I took, and they probably wouldn't apply in today's world or economy anyway. All I know is that I majored in Management and Technology and minored in Behavioral Science. If you want to study people, go to a mall. For all you Medical and Law Professional wannabes out there, please, pay me no mind. Go ahead and do your extra 4-8 years of time. As for the rest of you, you might want to hold on to your $20k + for just a little while longer.
